Description

I decided to update one of my villain concepts that I had sitting around.
Villain Concept: the Battery Ram

I really like how this one turned out for the most part.
Gave it a more dynamic pose that shows of his power.

First off when it comes to power-suit designs I adore the bigger and bulkier versions. Tony Stark and his slim-line stuff can get out of here, I like my giant war-machines that look like they could rip apart a tank.

The giant battery pack is a great idea as it supplies you both something the heroes can use to beat him and something that can altered in later designs. Not that it's bad what I mean by altered is a lot of these tech villains upgrade over time. So if Ram here starts losing he might go for a lot of SMALLER packs to hide around his suit, reinforce the battery pack etc. It's a design element that can change with time and that's fun.

Half the fun of high tech villains is the upgrades.

I do like the design, the thick outer armour with clear and obvious gaps for moving and bending, there's a lot of obvious thought put into it. We get a lot of guys in giant robot suits with no seams doing sick flips and yoga these days so seeing a bigger bulkier one with gaps for movement is really nice, shows you're putting in thought.

The horns are a really nice touch, as I started writing this I didn't like them. But looking it all over it's grown on me. It's a fun little thing for his namesake- I dare say without it his name doesn't work.

The little details you add are very handy, it almost makes me feel like we've found one of Ram's own documents, where he's scribbled down all his notes on the design and how it works. It's a fun little thing, even if not the intention.

Now, cause this is me, things that are a big funky. the pose is a little awkward man, the guys legs look REALLY tiny. Like the right leg looks like it's shattered it's at such a weird oblique angle. I get that more than likely you wanted to show off the leg-frames but it might have worked better as a drawing at the side as that right leg is not pretty. The pose is very dynamic so its a worthy sacrifice but it does look really janky.

I'm willing to say maybe the suit makes his upper body look a bit bigger when it comes to the size of the legs, armouring his upper half makes total sense. But the legs do look really strange. The right one looks like it's shattered and the left leg juts out at an odd angle. Minor complaints but they are complaints.

Next up I'd say the COILS to his battery. Looking at them they are steel or a thick conduit, I'm assuming as it's a battery these are full of wires or such. the way the cables look I sort of doubt her can lower his arms. Steel reinforced stuff like that barely bends or moves so Ram would be running around with his arms out in front him ZOMBIE like 24/7 if that was the case. WHICH WHILE A HILARIOUS IMAGE does not a scary villain make.

You might want to maybe make those THICK plastic cables or maybe have them TIGHTENED to his body chassis. Alternately maybe he has to move the giant arms into place, maybe this is intentional and it's supposed to take him TIME to use his giant weapons. Has to lock himself down, secure the arms and then fire pistons. Maybe it was all intentional and total brilliance on your part to make him a threat taht can only stand still to fight. But...I sorta doubt it that would be dull.

I admit complaining about the tubes is daft in hero land but it's a complaint ot make.

Now If I had my mad-science cap on which I always do things I'd say I don't hate but could be better. Make the vents bigger, give them a nice HISS of steam when he fires off his pack. Makes them look scarier. I'd almost say give him a SUIT he has to wear to wear this suit. Think Hulkbuster, Tony has to wear the ironman suit to fly it. This suit could be damaging so maybe Ram has a second line of defense a slimmer protective suit under this one. Lastly I would say his visor. Make the orange fill that WHOLE spot, it kinda looks really weird otherwise. Like he's got giant blind spots where his peripheral vision should be, not a great idea to have blind spots fighting peeps.

I'd also maybe do away with the shoulder spikes- he might scrapes his own power cords. But they aren't a big issue.

Overall it's a nice design, big, beefy, practical. Save for a few weakly drawn joints, a couple of wonky legs this is a great looking bad guy my man.
